Company Background: Get to Knows Tambi's Origin and Our Progress
Founded in 1865 during Dutch occupation. Burned to the ground during the independence war. It was rebuilt from scratch by former company workers and together with the Wonosobo government deconstructed into a private company with a strong conservation vision.
The plantation cover 825 hectares of very fertile land at the slope of active volcanoes of Sumbing and Sindoro in Wonosobo, Central Java.
High grown and pristine conditions of the area surrounding the plantation produce delicate taste of teas. Prominent international companies are our main partners.

Garden and Production Facilities
Tambimanages three group of gardens (afdelings), Tambi, Bedakah and Tanjungsari and proceeds the leaves in three different factory at each afdeling. Tambi and Bedakah produces orthodox black teas, whilst Tanjungsari produces green and scented teas. Covers 825 hectares healthy tea plantation from seedlings, and some Gambung clones. Afdeling Tambi produces orthodox black teas.
The tea plants in Afdeling Tambi grow in harmony with tropical mountain nature at 900 – 2,400 m ASL, with rainfall between 2,000- 3,500 mm per year which is distributed almost throughout the year creating a specific tropical climate with humidity ranging from 70 to 90% at temperature levels between 10 and 23oC. This agroclimate allows the tea grows well and produce strong flowery aroma.
